On Dec. 22, the government of Canada drew 746 candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The latest round of invitations for Permanent Residence had a cut-off score of 720. Obtaining a nomination through eligible PNP programs gives a candidate a 600-point boost in the Express Entry System. Candidates can apply for the PNP once they file an Express Entry application. Certain PNP streams are also open for candidates to apply directly.
From Sep. 15 onwards, there have been eight draws in a row from the PNP stream. Since January this year, the government has been drawing candidates exclusively through the PNP and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The largest draw in 2021 was through the CEC, amounting to more than 27,000 candidates. According to Express Entry pool data from Dec. 20, there were 739 candidates above 601 points.
