The latest round of Express Entry ITAs (Invitations to Apply) invitations was announced on January 22, 2020. There were 3400 invitations issued this time around with the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score at 471 points. This is a 2-point decrease from 473 points in the last draw, on January 8, 2020.

This is the second draw of 2020, and it brings the total number of invitations this year through Express Entry to 6800. Canada’s 2020 target for high-skilled immigration admission is 85,800, an increase last year’s 81,400.

The Express Entry program is the most popular pathway for skilled and economic-class immigrants to enter Canada and become permanent residents.

A number of candidates are selected from the Express Entry pool selected every few weeks too and invited to apply for permanent residency through one of three programs: Federal Skilled Worker ProgramFederal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
